This season the 80s are truly celebrated with the revival of the Jumpsuit!
Some of us will remember Jumpsuits from the first time around. We saw sophisticated ladies wearing them to lunch and trend setting new romantics in their designer chic rompers, bopping to Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet.
Women will remember the Jumpsuit with mixed emotions. They were and still are a great part of the capsule wardrobe, easy to accessories with belts and funky jewellery. This Season’s Jumpsuits have been nipped and cut so that figures of today can wear them and still look great!
Jumpsuits have featured in Marc Jacobs, Max Azria and Peter Som’s Collections but it wasn’t until Stella McCartney showed her numerous styles that they became HOT! Glam or casual varieties, stars such as Rachel Stevens, Kiera Knightly, Fearne Cotton and The Saturdays are all wearing them.

At Dorothy Perkins, Glasgow Fort you’ll find a great long legged black Jumpsuit, teamed with a black belt it will clinch you in at the waist to give you that extra element of style. Along with a flattering V neck to enhance the bust line,
it’s a steal at only £40!

Warehouse at Glasgow Fort have added a touch of glamour with their 100% silk Jumpsuit, in a gorgeous shade of gold. This is cut to perfection and will look dramatically stunning with some primary coloured heels and handbag! Check out their animal print playsuit (see photo) at £65, also 100% silk, definitely a ‘This Seasons Must Have’ item – team this with gladiator sandals and ethnic braids for a fun girl day out!

Fancy a more relaxed look? Jane Norman give the Jumpsuit more of a daywear feel with beige and taupe safari hotpant Jumpsuits – if you’ve got the legs for this stylish number then thrown on a wide belt and some fringed ankle boots and you’ll definitely rock and look great during Festival Season. |
For a more 80s feel why not check out Oasis’ primary coloured Jumpsuits! My personal favourite is the Royal Blue, priced at £65; the colour easily lends itself to the abundant accessories: silver sandals and clutch bag or Pillar Box Red heels and bag – you’re sure to turn heads.
Brave fashionistas will love Zara’s boob tube Jumpsuit; their sexy purple number is only £29.90 and would look hot with a funky blazer and some killer heels. Kiera Knightly and Kirstin Dunst are just two celebrities loving this look! Zara are probably sporting the largest selection of Jumpsuits from sleeveless to full leg styles in navy, grey and black from £29.90 and hotpant styles with funky front pockets in khaki, grey and beige from only £19.90!
Happy Shopping!
